Welcome to the International Society for Research on Identity-ISRI!  Our Society was formed from a group of scholars who began meeting together in the 1990’s, who then founded the Society for Research on Identity Formation (SRIF) in 2000. We changed our name in 2015 and expanded this website to reflect the expanding interest in multidisciplinary identity scholarship that is now world-wide. Membership in ISRI is open to all who have an interest in understanding and supporting identity processes across the lifespan.

Our flagship journal, published quarterly, is Identity: An International Journal for Theory and Research on Identity. We now meet biennially as a special interest group in conjunction with the Society for the Study of Emerging Adulthood; on alternate years we hold our own conference at a special location where in-depth conversations can take place.  You’ll see information here about how to join our society and to register for our upcoming events.  We welcome early-career professionals, as mentored relationships have always been integral to the work of our Society!

You can Sign up here if you aren’t on our mailing list to receive updates on our events, webinars, and conference calls.
